3. What we do
Aurelius Capital is a commercial finance brokerage. We provide credit assistance by helping you identify and apply for credit products across our panel of more than 130 lenders, including major banks, second-tier banks, non-bank lenders and specialist commercial lenders.
The types of finance we typically arrange include:
- Commercial property mortgages
- Development and construction finance
- Asset and equipment finance
- Business loans and lines of credit
- Cashflow finance and invoice/debtor finance
- SMSF lending for commercial property
- Private lending (via Aurelius Private)
4. How we are paid
We are usually paid by the lender when your loan settles. The lender may pay us an upfront commission, an ongoing trail commission, or both.
Commissions typically range between 0.50% and 5.00% of the loan amount. Where in that range a given commission falls depends on:
- the size of the loan
- the type of finance (e.g. mortgage, asset finance, cashflow)
- the complexity of the deal
- the time and work required to structure and settle it
In some cases we may charge you a brokerage fee directly. Where we do, it will be disclosed in writing in a Credit Quote and Credit Proposal document before you commit.
We do not receive commissions or other benefits that would create a material conflict of interest. If a potential conflict arises, we will disclose it.
5. Our process
- Initial enquiry. You contact us; we discuss your requirements.
- Preliminary assessment. We gather your information, assess your objectives and financial situation, and consider whether a credit contract is likely to be suitable.
- Recommendation. We recommend lenders and products that we reasonably consider to be not unsuitable, and we issue a Credit Quote and Credit Proposal.
- Submission. With your consent, we submit your application to the selected lender(s).
- Settlement. We work alongside the lender, your legal representative and any third parties to bring the loan to settlement.
6. Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate, complete and up-to-date information about your financial position, objectives and requirements.
- Tell us promptly of any change in your circumstances that may be relevant to your application.
- Read all documents provided to you (including any Credit Quote, Credit Proposal, and lender disclosure documents) before signing.
7. Complaints
If you have a complaint about our services, please contact us first. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to resolve it through our Internal Dispute Resolution (IDR) process within the timeframes required by ASIC Regulatory Guide 271.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can refer your complaint to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA), an external dispute resolution scheme of which we are a member. Full details are in our Compliments and Concerns.
8. Your rights
