Business loan broker.

Secured or unsecured, a line of credit, or a loan to buy a business. One application, and we compare 130+ lenders to find the one that will say yes.

How it works.

A business loan is money a business borrows for a business purpose and repays over an agreed term. It can be secured against property or business assets, or unsecured and assessed on how the business trades. The right loan depends on what the money is for and what the business can show. A bank usually wants two years of financials and often property as security. Many non-bank lenders will work from six to twelve months of bank statements instead. The rate gap between those two paths can be wide, so it pays to know which one you qualify for before you apply. We are a broker, not a lender. We look at your numbers first, tell you which lenders are likely to approve the deal, then run the application through to funding. You deal with the same person the whole way.

Ranges are typical across our panel, not a promise for any one business. Our guide to unsecured business loans covers borrowing without property security in more detail.

Business loan interest rates

Most of our business loan clients are funded by non-bank cashflow lenders, not the big four. Banks want two years of financials and usually property security, and most growing businesses can't tick both boxes. Cashflow lenders assess your bank statements instead and can fund in days. They cost more, so it helps to see real numbers before you apply.

Non-bank cashflow lenders on our panel

These ranges come from the current rate cards of the fintech cashflow lenders we use, dated April to September 2026. Your rate depends mostly on time in business, your credit score and whether a director owns property.

Your businessTypical rate
Director owns property, 5+ years trading, strong creditfrom 13.95% p.a.
Director owns property, 1+ year trading, credit score 550+14.95% to 18.95% p.a.
No property, 5+ years trading, strong credit, $1M+ turnover15.5% to 17.5% p.a.
No property, 2+ years trading, fair to good credit18.95% to 29.5% p.a.
No property, 1 to 2 years trading21.95% to 39.5% p.a.
Credit score under 55039.5% to 44.5% p.a.

On top of the rate, expect an establishment fee of up to 2.5% of the loan or a documentation fee of around $495, depending on the lender. Loan sizes run from $10,000 to $1 million. Most of these lenders need at least 12 months of trading.

If you qualify for a bank

Bank rates are lower, but approval is harder and slower. Published starting rates, checked late September 2026:

Lender or measurePublished rateSource
Average new variable loan to a small business7.07% p.a.RBA table F7, data to July 2026

NAB QuickBiz Loan, unsecured12.95% p.a.money.com.au, 24 Sep 2026

The RBA lifted the cash rate to 4.60% on 29 September 2026, and CBA and Westpac raised many variable business rates by 0.25% from 9 October. None of these figures are quotes. Your rate is set by the lender after it assesses your application.

The headline rate is only part of the cost. Fees, the term and early payout charges matter too. See the true cost of a business loan before you compare two offers.

What lenders ask for

It depends on the size of the loan and the lender. There are two broad paths.

Low-doc and unsecured loans (most non-bank lenders)

  • Your ABN, and GST registration for most lenders
  • Six to twelve months of business bank statements
  • Driver's licence for each director
  • How much you need and what it's for

Full-doc and bank loans

  • Two years of financial statements and tax returns
  • Recent BAS, and any ATO payment plan
  • A list of current debts, and an assets and liabilities statement
  • A valuation, if property is the security

Lenders read your bank statements closely. Our guide on how lenders read business bank statements shows what they look for. If you owe the ATO, read getting a business loan with ATO debt. Under 12 months of trading? Start with business loans for a new ABN.

How fast you can get the money

Speed depends mostly on the security and how complete your paperwork is on day one. Typical timeframes once we have your documents:

LoanTypical time to funds
Unsecured or cashflow loanSame day to 3 business days
Asset finance3 to 7 business days after documents are signed
Secured bank term loan2 to 4 weeks
Loan secured by property4 to 8 weeks, mostly waiting on the valuation

These are what we see across our panel, not a guarantee. The lender makes the final call on timing.

Business loans on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane

Our team is on the Gold Coast and works with business owners across South East Queensland and the rest of Australia. Most deals run by phone and email. We meet in person when that helps.

Why use a broker for a business loan

Every application you make goes on your credit file as an enquiry. Several declines in a row make the next lender more cautious. We check your numbers against lender policy before anything is submitted, so the application goes to a lender that is likely to approve it.

You also get the whole market in one conversation, not one bank's product list. That matters most when the deal is a little unusual: a young business, an ATO debt, a seasonal trade or a purchase the bank doesn't understand. Our guide on how commercial finance brokers get paid explains the fees and commissions.

How we structure these deals.

  1. Apply

Tell us about the deal in one short form. Just the shape of what you need. The documents come later.

  2. We structure the deal

We build the structure around the deal, then take it to the lenders on our panel most likely to fund it.

  3. Lender approval

We manage the lender back-and-forth, negotiate the terms and bring you a clear recommendation.

  4. Settlement

Conditions, documents and settlement. Handled and tracked through to funds in the account.

Questions, answered.

It depends on what the business earns, what security it can offer and what the money is for. Unsecured lenders usually cap out at around $300,000. With property or other security, loans run into the millions. We give you a realistic range after a short look at your numbers.

Yes. Unsecured business loans are assessed on your trading history and bank statements rather than property. Most lenders still ask for a personal guarantee from the directors, and the rate is higher than a secured loan.

Sometimes. Most lenders want at least six to twelve months of trading. Some will lend to a newer business if there is property security, a strong deposit or a contract in place. We know which lenders consider new ABNs.

Each application is a credit enquiry, and several in a short time can count against you. We assess the deal before anything is submitted, so the application goes only to lenders that are likely to approve it.

A business loan gives you a lump sum that you repay over a set term. A line of credit is a limit you can draw on, repay and draw again, and you pay interest only on what you use. A loan suits one known cost. A line of credit suits cash flow that goes up and down.

Most growing businesses are funded by non-bank cashflow lenders, at roughly 14% to 30% p.a. for an established business, and up to around 45% p.a. for a newer one or a weaker credit file. Bank loans start around 7% p.a. secured, but they need full financials and usually property. We compare the panel and show you the full cost, not just the headline rate.
